Terms and conditions

Draft wording, not yet in force. This page is a starting point for the operator and their legal adviser. It has not been reviewed, it does not yet state the terms of any contract, and no orders can be placed while it stands unconfirmed.

These terms apply between you and [trading name to be confirmed] when you order a vehicle history report from this website. The version in force when you order is recorded against your order, and that is the version that governs it.

1. What you are buying

You are buying one written report about one vehicle registration, researched by a member of our team against the sources listed on our report data sources page, and delivered to you as a PDF by email. The price is [price to be confirmed].

You are not buying an instant automated check, a guarantee about the vehicle, a valuation, a mechanical inspection, or advice on whether to buy the vehicle.

2. When your order starts

Your order reaches us once your payment has been confirmed by our payment provider. Reaching the thank-you page is not by itself confirmation of payment. We email you when the order is accepted, with the registration we hold and the delivery window.

3. Delivery

We aim to deliver your report [delivery time to be confirmed]. The clock runs during our working hours only (Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:00), so an order placed outside them starts at the next working period.

We deliver by emailing you a private link. The link works only for your order and expires. If it expires before you have downloaded the report, ask us and we will issue a new one.

4. The registration you give us

We research the registration you enter. If it is wrong or does not identify a vehicle we can research, we will contact you; see section 6.

5. What a report can and cannot tell you

A report states what the records available to us said about the vehicle on the day we researched it. Where a check was not available for your vehicle, the report says so and names the check. A record that is absent is reported as absent; it is not evidence that nothing happened.

We do not warrant that a report is complete, and a report is not a substitute for inspecting a vehicle or for professional advice.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Our refund terms are on the refunds page, including how the right to cancel digital services applies to a report that has already been prepared.

7. Your data

What we hold, why, and how to ask for a copy or for erasure is set out in our privacy policy.

8. Using the report

The report is for your own use in connection with the vehicle you asked about. Please do not republish it or pass the link on: anyone holding the link can read the report.

9. Our status

[trading name to be confirmed] is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of the DVLA, the DVSA or any other government body.

10. Complaints and contact

Email [support address to be confirmed] with your order number and we will reply within our working hours.

For the operator: before these terms are published, a UK legal adviser must settle the trading entity and address, the governing law and jurisdiction clause, the limitation of liability, the cancellation wording required by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for digital services, the complaints and ADR route, and any licence conditions imposed by the report data providers. The sections above are a drafting aid and deliberately contain no liability cap, no jurisdiction clause and no invented company details.
